Midwest to Manhattan

I realized NYC was the place I needed to be a long time ago. The vibrance, the energy, the culture! Originally hailing from Bolivar, MO, the idea of the “Big City” was nothing short of enthralling. I can confidently say that each step I’ve made in the last 10 years have been made in preparation to land in NYC one day. On September 22nd, 2018, this dream became a reality.

What I’m passionate about…

I have a deep love for music, theatre, travel, language and coffee.

My passion for music and theatre started as young as 6 and ultimately lead me to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre (Missouri State University ‘15). Both music and theatre have played monumental roles in my life and have vastly helped to shape the man I am today. I have had the joy of being a part of multiple shows. Some of my favorites were: The Addams Family, City of Angels, Legally Blonde the Musical and Sweeney Todd. On the side, I have also enjoyed composing musical theatre music.

My passion for travel is also a very prevalent part of my life. For as long as I can remember, my family and I have traveled (this partly due to the fact that we live far from our extended family) and I have continued the tradition on my own well into my 20s. This passion eventually took the shape of Zetting Travel, my own personally owned and operated travel agency! I have been fortunate to travel to over 20 countries in my life and can’t wait to see more!

My passion for language started in high school when I started taking Spanish; I fell in love. I continued studying Spanish through high school and college and also earned a BA in Spanish (Missouri State University ‘16). During my undergrad years, I was also fortunate enough to spend two summers in Barcelona, Spain; this city has my heart forever. After graduating and working for a year as a Bilingual Para-Professional at a high school in Missouri, I answered the call to go back to Barcelona, where I earned my Master’s in Translation Studies (Universitat Pompeu Fabra ‘18).

Completion of my Master’s thesis.

My passion for coffee is simply put in the following way: coffee is a warming, invigorating beverage which comes in many states and flavors that has a magical power of connecting people from all around the world. The phrase “let’s get coffee sometime!” is a casual yet intimate way for people to connect.

What my goals are…

I have loads of goals for my life. Some are short term and some are long term. Some are easy to achieve and others quite difficult. Some may say this is a “bucket list”. I say, they’re goals.

(In no particular order)

  1. Work in an prestigious company in Manhattan

  2. Master a third language (probably German or French)

  3. Perform in a Broadway musical

  4. Write a Broadway musical

  5. Cruise to Alaska

  6. Pay off student loans

  7. Start a family

  8. Open a restaurant and/or bar in NYC

  9. Meet/hang out with Lin-Manuel Miranda

  10. Visit all 50 States

I tweet sometimes.
